I am really excited to have been invited to join the adjudication panel for the Future Blend Project’s ‘Hidden Gems’ concert on January 6th 2018.
You can find out all about this initiative at their website here. But in short – the project gives ten selected composers the opportunity to work directly with harpists in creating a solo piece. There’s a lot to learn about composing for the harp, but it’s not as scary as people think, and the best way to do it is often to talk/video directly to a harpist and see and hear them and their instrument at work.
I can’t wait to hear these ten new pieces in less than six months’ time! The concert-competition will be taking place at the Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick, starting at 5.30pm.
