This summer, the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique return once more to the South of France for BerliozFest with a performance of Berlioz’s third symphony, Roméo et Juliette. Inspired by a performance of Shakespeare’s play,  Berlioz takes an innovative approach in this work, using orchestral forces to express the sublime nature of Roméo and Juliette’s love, while the choral forces play a narrative role, building towards the reconciliation scene of the finale.
